What causes wheels to get out of alignment?
Minor things such as bumping into a curb, or driving over a pothole can throw off your alignment. Accidents can obviously impact your wheels' alignment as well. Small changes to your wheel alignment can cause major problems and increased tread wear on your tires. Serious damages to your suspension and steering systems can result from wheel alignment issues that go unresolved. It's recommended that you get your wheel alignment check about every 6,000 miles or once a year.

Your wheels should be perpendicular to the road at all times, as well as parallel to each other. Correctly aligned wheels rely on the angles of the camber, caster, and toe. The camber measures the angle that the wheel stands relative to the road. Caster represents the angle of the wheel's pivot when viewed from the side. The toe is the angle that refers to the directional difference between the tire and the centerline of the vehicle. All three of these angles need to be in line for the vehicle to drive efficiently and safely.
